Join ACJC
THE NEXT NEW JUSTICE SELECTION PROCESS WILL OCCUR IN THE SPRING OF
2006!
There is no current active justice recruitment or selection occurring.
Please look for more information here and around campus after Spring Break
ACJC is looking for a few good undergraduate students.
Each spring, ACJC selects new members to replace those Justices graduating. Justices are confirmed by the Students' Association Senate.
The total number of active Justices on the council is eleven.
What are we looking for?
ACJC is looking for responsible, eager, intelligent, and committed undergrads
with an ability for critical thinking and interest in judicial procedures.
Justices should be prepared to make their Friday afternoons from 3pm on free
for judicial hearings. Justices serve from appointment until they graduate from
the university.
About the Process
First, we will
have three interest meetings, where you can chat with the current justices, and
find out about our responsibilities. While the interest meetings are not
required, you are encouraged to attend to see if you are really interested in ACJC.
From the date of the first interest meeting you will be able to sign up for a
preliminary interview where you'll meet the entire
Council. Several students will proceed from that preliminary interview to a
final interview session comprised of both SA Senators and ACJC Justices.
The number of positions to be filled is determined by the number of graduating
Justices. The final interview committee selects the new justices and
confirmation of them by Senate must be obtained. The whole
process will be relatively painless for you, but will enable ACJC to select the
best students we can for the important work of the Council. All candidates must be available for both interview sessions if they wish to become justices.
