The University of Rochester Ballroom Dance Club is open to all students, staff and faculty. We meet once a week during the fall and spring terms. Lessons are every Monday from 7:30-9:00pm in the May Room, with social dancing afterwards until 10pm.
The beginning of Fall Semester is dedicated to teaching Waltz, Viennese Waltz and Polka for the annual Viennese Ball in November. Additionally, at the beginning of Spring Semester, we usually teach some Swing in preparation for the Masquerade Ball at the beginning of February. In between, we’ve done salsa, merengue, rumba, mambo, cha cha, tango and much, much more. We are always looking for suggestions of new dances or guest instructors to bring in.
