We, the Executive Board of the Black Students' Union, would like to welcome you to our new website, which is a current work in progress. The BSU represents students of the African, African-American, and Caribbean descent on the campus of the University of Rochester.

The BSU is a one of the social and cultural groups at the University of Rochester, and leads the way by presenting and sponsoring numerous student activities in all forms: social and cultural, educational and political, and community service oriented. We have a history of achievement and success, involvement and participation, and recognition at the University of Rochester, throughout the Rochester community, and beyond. Our membership includes students of all majors with connections to other organizations as essential aspects of student life on and off campus.

However designed to serve the specific interests and promote the culture and history of students of color at the university, the BSU is not an organization reserved solely for Students of Color, BSU is open to everyone and contains members of diverse background and cultures that unite as one. Our motto, "In Union there is Strength," represents the unity of people of all color together where each one can learn, socialize, and express themselves in a safe and respectable manner.
