The 2004-05 debate season included many highlights for the UR Debate Union. Rochester's Director of Forensics Sam Nelson won the Brownlee Award for lifetime achievement. Senior Steve D'amico won the Michael K. Davis Award, given annually to an outstanding debater who did not compete in policy debate in high school. Two Rochester teams broke into elimination rounds at CEDA Nationals, and UR sent two teams to the National Debate Tournament (NDT) at the end of the season.
