This was the first tournament of the season for several varsity teams from Rochester. The UR squad sent the teams of Steve D'amico/Will Sondey, Anna Czapla/Ilana Kaplan-Shain, Liz Gaskell/Mike Morosi, and Edwar Estrada(in his first college tournament)/Marquis Harrison.
This was a national event with teams from powerhouse debate programs such as Harvard, Dartmouth, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Emory competing. Although none of the Rochester teams broke into elimination rounds, they performed respectably in the face of injury, missing evidence, and intense competition.
