National Debate Tournament in Dallas, TX

March 30-April 2, 2007

For the second year in a row, the team of Buddy Khan and Ben Wittwer represented the University of Rochester at the National Debate Tournament (NDT), this year having qualified as the top seed at the district tournament. The 2007 NDT marked the end of the 2006-07 season, and the final tournament in the debate career of senior team president Ben Wittwer. In an event featuring the toughest competition of the season, Khan and Wittwer finished 3-5. Each round featured a three judge panel, and all three of the UR team's wins were 3-0 decisions, while four of their five losses were by 2-1 decisions. As a result, Rochester finished the tournament winning a majority of potential ballots, 13 out of 24. Congratulations on a solid performance and another successful season!
