After a one year hiatus, the Brad Smith Debate Tournament at the University of Rochester returned in 2006. As the host school, Rochester teams were not eligible to compete in elimination rounds, but the URDU's Ishani Vellodi was 5th speaker in the novice division, and the team of Vellodi and Rona Yang finished the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record.
