Gamma Phi Beta is for a Lifetime

Prominent Gamma Phi Alumnae
Meet our Alumni Advisers

As a sister of one of the oldest women's society, a Gamma Phi joins over 150,000 members with 116 Collegiate chapter and more than 160 alumnae groups in the United States and Canada. Becoming a Gamma Phi Beta during your college years is the first step of a life membership. Once the college days are over, a sister of the Sorority enjoys membership rights, privileges and responsibilities wherever she may live, work or travel.

Joining an alumnae group in one way to stay involved after the end of college. Here at Epsilon Tau, we are blessed to have the Rochester Alumnae Chapter support us in our sponsored events and activites. Together, sisters old and new celebrate Founders Day each fall, welcome new members each semester and support camping for girls through Camp Fire USA as well as Hillside Children's Center with numerous philanthropic events.

Gamma Phis also have a wonderful social and networking resource in Sisterlink. Functioning similarly to Facebook, Sisterlink is for current and alumnae members of the Sorority and allows members to stay connected, meet new people, share ideas and advice, and make job postings in every field imaginable!

The Rochester Alumni Chapter took some time to give back by volunteering at Hillside Special Santas headquarters.

More about the Gamma Phi Beta Rochester Alumnae Group
Active sisters share many experiences with Alumnae allowing them to see how they can stay involved in Gamma Phi Beta even after they have graduated. Each fall semester, Epsilon Tau and the Rochester Alumnea group co-sponsor an Alumnae Tea Party that lets sisters new and old reconnect and share in conversation and laughter. The event is held over Meliora Weekend, so that new members and their families can attend, too! New members also get an opportunity to experience the family environment created by Gamma Phi Beta when they travel to a local alumna's home for a home-cooked dinner. There they hear heart-felt stories from several alumnea and their new member educator (sorority mom) and get a chance to see what Gamma Phi means over a lifetime of membership. At the end of each academic year, graduating sisters are also invited to alumna's home as a farewell to her collegiate chapter and a welcome to the Alumnae Chapter. Each sister receives a beautiful momento and is invited to continue involvement in Gamma Phi into her golden years of life.

Sisters and alumnae also organize several philanthropic events throughout the year. Together we collect items for health care packages and loving pack the items in gift bags to send to Hillside Children's Center for kids new to the program. Delivering the bags helps the children feel a little more at home in an unfamiliar place and allows Gamma Phis to impact the community in a positive way. Games and children's books are also collected by sisters and alumnae and are wrapped at Christmas time for Secret Santa gifts.

The Rochester Alumnae Chapter also works throughout the year on its own events and activities. They organize Founder's Day celebrations and philanthropic events, become Chapter advisors, and become involved in Gamma Phi Beta International. Of note, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter has organized Camp Possibilities located right in Pittsford, New York.
