Meira Kruskal
President

Leads Executive Council meetings, Chapter meetings, and rituals. As a non-voting member of every committee, it is the President?s job to constantly ensure that the chapter is meeting all of its goals and self-set expectations. In order to achieve those goals, she works closely with a local Chapter Advisor and an expert Regional Coordinator. She emphasizes communication while guaranteeing confidentiality and strives to make herself an available resource for all members. Gamma Phi Beta International also provides chapter Presidents with the opportunity to attend two leadership conferences each year. Enthusiasm, a great attitude, orating skills, and undeniable dedication are just some of the many qualities we find in our Presidents.

Unsure of who you need to talk to or would like to discuss an idea? Setting up a short meeting with the President or sending her an email is a great place to start. Email: meira.kruskal@rochester.edu

"My sisters have always been there for me."

Katherine Nixon
Financial Vice-President

The expert of chapter finances. The Financial Vice-President works year around providing the chapter with affordable dues and a working budget. She ensures that money is spent efficiently so that members can literally see how dues are being spent. This year we have begun the use of a service called Automated Payment Highway (APH). Members pay dues online and APH allows for invoices to be sent directly to each member, increasing the number of ways that dues can be paid, as well as speed by which financial information can be processed. The Financial Vice-President often works with members in confidence to create a payment plan that makes sense for them. The Financial Vice-President submits monthly paperwork to our International Headquarters. Additionally the Housing Chairwoman is part of the Financial Vice-President's Department. Both women are active members of our House Corporation Board where we collaborate with local Alumnae to make any housing changes or improvements.

"I never thought anything could mean as much to me as Gamma Phi does, and I will always have it as part of me."

Leah Spungen
Public Relations Vice-President

The chapter's public relations expert. The Public Relations department is the largest department. As a whole, the department strives to eliminate any negative stigmas that continue to affect Greek Letter Organizations. Gamma Phi Beta places an importance on positively affecting not only our members, but also the entire University community. This is accomplished by co-sponsoring events on campus, donating our time and money, providing parents, university officials, and the Rochester community with short newsletters and informational updates, and verbally promoting Gamma Phi Beta in social environments. We have an exceptional sisterhood, and everyone should know it! The Public Relations Vice-President works hard to show our sisterhood and unique ideals off to the community. The Philanthropy Chairwoman, Standards Chairwoman, Collegiate-Alumnae Relations Chairwoman, and Social Chairwoman are all vital positions that are part of this vast department. The Public Relations Vice-President runs department meetings that act as an open forum for discussion of public relation ideas. She helps members become more aware of the effects that seemingly simple actions can have on her sisters, friends, and family. Most importantly, she helps each members maintain a positive self image with her enthusiasm and creativity.

Roslyn Yi
Membership Vice-President

The recruitment expert of the chapter. If you have any questions about joining Gamma Phi Beta, this is your go-to person. She works with the chapter as well as with the Panhellenic Community to plan a successful formal recruitment, which happens every year at the beginning of the spring semester. Women interested in joining a sorority get the chance to meet women from each organization, helping them to decide if a sorority, and which sorority would be a perfect fit for them. In addition to formal recruitment, Gamma Phi Beta hosts an informal recruitment in the fall, which is the perfect opportunity to get to know our sisters and better understand why we call ourselves a sisterhood. There are no obligations in attending any recruitment event. The only expectation is to learn something new about one or more of your peers. The Membership Vice-President organizes and oversees everything that goes into running successful recruitment events.
