Why did you become a Pride Network Officer?
Ever since I joined Pride in my freshman year, Pride has been a large, positive part of my life. It is the group that I am most involved with. I ran for office because I wanted to be able to give back to Pride, to make it an even better experience for the members. I also feel that the group is an important vehicle in our march to equality, in which I want to be a leader.

What are your goals for Pride Network?
I hope that Pride network can attract many new members, especially allies. Hopefully we can sustain the high levels of interest in the club from the first meeting onward. We should be able to maintain a good balance between political activism, education, and fun activities. Lastly, I hope that we will be able to focus a little more on some issues which are sometimes overlooked, such as transgender issues, asexuality, etc.

How do you think members will benefit out of Pride Network and its meetings? Hopefully our members will be able to learn some things that they either did not know about, or have limited experience/knowledge with. Also, Pride provides a place where people can be themselves safely, without fear (especially with our confidentiality agreement). It provides a tool to enact change within the communities of U of R, Rochester, NY, the country, and perhaps even the world. Lastly, Pride provides a fun atmosphere to relax and enjoy oneself.

A random fact about you since we have the space I moonlight as Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime (laughs). Seriously, I enjoy costuming, and the Joker is my star costume.
