Meet Your Stylist

Michelle

What's your background in hair styling, nails, etc.?

  • Originally licenced in 1974; started the Mane Attraction in 1986, with the second one at UR starting in 1994

Why do you enjoy what you do?

  • Being able to meet new people, and learn about different cultures. The instant gratification that comes from what I do is the best.

What do you think is the "best kept hair secret"?

  • Cool water preserves hair color.

Nichole

What's your background in hair, nails, etc.?

  • I went to a trade school called Continental Beauty and have had my cosmetology license for a year. I recently started furthering my education in nails.

Why do you enjoy what you do?

  • It gives me the opportunity to make people feel good about the way they look.

What do you think is the biggest trend in hair right now?

  • I'd have to say layers. People are really getting into layers.

What about nails?

  • We have been seeing a lot of manicures. People are more apt to change the polish more often rather than getting acrylic nails.

Kristie

What's your background in hair styling, nails, etc.?

  • I attended Eastern Monroe Career Center for two years and am licensed to practice cosmetology, but mainly I specialize in hair.

Why do you enjoy what you do?

  • It has always been a passion to help people improve themselves. Whether it be a little haircut or a crazy highlight it's always fun.

What's the worst hair cut you've ever received??

  • Growing up with my mom also being a hairdresser, I always had her cut my hair. But the worst cut I ever had was when I wanted my hair really short and my mom wanted me to keep it long. She got really mad and her solution was to put my hair in a ponytail and chop it off! I cried and that was the worst!
