Past Community Service Events

Domestic Violence Awareness Week
Every October, in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Iota Chapter hosts a week of events and activities to promote awareness of this cause. We have held self-defense workshops, film showings, educational workshops, and tabled giving out information about domestic violence and collecting donations to give to organizations such as ABW (Alternatives for Battered Women)

Wincheng Lin Bone Marrow Drive

In honor and support of one of our charter sisters, Iota Chapter annually hosts its bone marrow drive where we table and try to get students, staff, and others to come register to be a potential bone marrow donor. We inform people about the process and try to specifically encourage those representing minorities to register, since bone marrow matches are often more likely within the same ethnicities.

APIA Vote
Sisters tabled to educate and encourage students, especially minority students, about voting and to register to vote in the upcoming election.

Be the Change Day
We held a table during this event showing adults and children aspects of Asian culture by offering fan and lantern painting, Origami folding, and other activities.

Project Bundle Up
With donations from the Salvation Army, school children were accompanied by sisters and other volunteers to shop around JC Penny for a free winter coat, mittens, and a hat.
