About Us
Founded in 2002, the Undergraduate Musicians' Council (UMC) exists to promote musical activities on the River Campus and to facilitate relations between River Campus musicians and the music department. The UMC has worked to strengthen and build a community among the college's musicians by sponsoring student performances, group study sessions, concert trips, special lectures by faculty, and coordinating musicians to form new ensembles.

The UMC defines its success by the richness of the musical life and community it brings to the River Campus. This cannot be achieved without the enthusiastic participation of the River Campus' diverse body of musicians, so musicians and lovers of music of every genre and level of expertise are strongly encouraged to become a part of the UMC by attending the Council's weekly gatherings or any of the various on- and off-campus events it organizes. If you would like to attend any of our events, please see our events page. If you would like to receive updates about UMC or to find musicians for an ensemble, please go to our Join! page.
