Spring 2009

Lubber's Cup

Regatta homepage
Rochester crew opened its 2009 spring season in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 28, 2009 with racing between Rochester, Grand Valley State University, University of Michigan (M), Notre Dame, Northern Michigan, and Wheaton College. Races were run upstream from floating starts in a moderate current with variable quartering headwinds. Events with Grand/Petite Final format used time trials (100m shorter than finals races) to assign the competitor's final level and lane seeding. The Men's/Women's varsity eights broke down into fours for a shot at smaller boat racing in the Varsity 4+ event. Rochester took home Gold in the MV4+ and had strong finishes the eights across the board with the novice squads racing the first 2Ks of their careers.
